Mathemagenic: "Blogs for developing language skills". Lilia at Mathemagenic has a great idea:

One of my friends has commented on my not perfect English and suggested her help for improving it. She is going to start Radio blog, so I think about the following:

* She makes a special category, which is not visible in her blog, but has an RSS feed.
* Then she uses this category to comment on my posts pointing to errors and suggesting improvements.
* I subscribe to this RSS, get my personal feedback and correct posts.

This clever idea has never crossed my mind before. Wow!

Tutorial: LyX quickstart. I keep meaning to ramp up my familiarity with LyX, the "advanced open source document processor that encourages an approach to writing based on the structure of your documents, not their appearance. LyX lets you concentrate on writing, leaving details of visual layout to the software."

Does anyone use LyX to do heavy-duty corporate publishing? Can it reasonably fit in a corporate FrameMaker world?

Today on Librenix I see an intro to Steve Litt's LyX Quickstart. First glance looks great. Thanks, Steve.

Of course, I'm always so interested in exploring new text-wrangling and publishing tools--I equally love BBEdit, Vim, XEmacs, and to a lesser extent, FrameMaker--that I may forever be a jack of all text tools, master of none. Oh, well; at least I'm havin' fun!
