I explore FreeNX, the GPL implementation of NX, “an exciting new technology for remote display … that provides near local speed application responsiveness over high latency, low bandwidth links.” Result is a usable Ubuntu desktop, running on a home PC, displayed on a PowerBook screen in the hands of a travelin’ dude.

Experiment: Summer re-runs? Unseen footage? Recyclable blogging? Lacking any sounder thoughts to not-rant about, I try an experiment: publishing recent info-laden emails I’ve written in hopes they’ll help direct future Googlers to the same cool stuff I’ve been discovering and discussing, until now, just among my circle of friends.

First up: Noodler’s fountain pen ink, smooth flowing, non-feathering, richly opaque, waterproof, sunproof, and, according to Noodler’s security challenge, forgery-proof.
