Switching to full-text RSS feed
Oops, my RSS feed has been excerpt-only even though I prefer full-text. Switching site feed to full-text now, feed URL(s) unchanged.
Hmmm, I need to pay more attention to my RSS feed. The sitewide feed has been excerpt-only probably since early January when I flipped the switch to Textpattern. I don’t like excerpt-only; if I’m going to be reading someone’s feed in a newsreader, I want to see it all right there.
Kimili reminds me that the main toggle in Textpattern for RSS feeds including body (full text) or excerpt is ‘syndicate_body_or_excerpt’ residing in file /textpattern/lib/admin_config.php.
This site’s feed setting is now toggled to “syndicate full article body.”
BTW, this admin_config.php toggle applies even when using compooter’s clever non-hack for clean feed URLs, as I am. Note that as a result of my using compooter’s non-hack, constraining this site’s feed to specific site sections (say, Weblog feed) and/or article count (say, Reading feed, limit 15) is as easy as appending to the base feed URL you’re subscribing to.
Thanks, Kimili and compooter.
