Solution: Web services behind firewall
Evening update: Duncan’s tip may help, but Radio UserLand:Web Services: contents remained invisible to Radio. Finally, exasperated, I installed a fresh copy of Radio 8.0.7 (the whole enchilada) and carefully brought forward my previous www, weblogData.root, and so on. Now Web Services work! But it was hardly straightforward.
Duncan Smeed (da man) provides most of a solution to my Web Services errors while sitting behind a corporate firewall/proxy, which read something like “Macro error: Poorly formed XML text…” The solution lies in modifying Radio’s system.verbs.builtins.tcp.httpClient script to bypass the proxy for 127.0.0.1 requests.
